On The Air: Airing Of Grievances

ScreamcropThe quest for eighth place is back on track after Sunday's epic win over Aston Villa, and Matt, Phil and Tom are clearly still on a Newcastle United high as they return to the podcast airwaves! Wait, that's a total lie.

The IWIWAG team does indeed break down Newcastle's first win in more than a month, before looking ahead to an uncertain summer and trying to make sense of the club's long-term plan. Oh, right — there isn't one! Plus comparisons to similarly mismanaged American sports teams and enough ranting to satisfy the most disgruntled fan's black-and-white soul. Even the podcasts are depressing! Good stuff though.

I don't think Graham Carr can be blamed for much. Some of the worst players we have are not 'Carr recommendations,' they're 'Pardew signings'- Obertan in particular is a signing that was insisted upon by Pardew. We do have too many one-dimensional players though, maybe we aren't willing to pay the aount of money that it would take to sign someone that can both run fast, and find a good pass?
